So the final days of socal skating consisted of long nights, an over abundance of alcohol consumption, and sessions at around 5pm by the time everyone was able to sober up or wake up from the long nights. We drove out to Azusa to stay at Gonzos house for a couple days but seeing as it was the middle of the week the skating wasnt too intense, plus it was kinda hot cuz Gonzo brought the jungle fever to us. After skating about 2 or 3 spots in 2 days we took off to stay in Long Beach with Cameron Frazier.. Not much skating went down here either, partly because we are all pretty lazy, and because we didnt know anyone to meet up with which made it hard to find spots for us. We ended up chillaxin all day than we went to some rich club where Vinny was completely annhialated before we even showed up thanks to a whole jug of that top of the line wine, Carlos Rossi. So we got to the club that charged 10 dollars for a jack and coke. So we ordered 3 of them, luckily we had one of Camerons homie hook us up with some free drank coupons so all i had to come out of pocket was 1.50 for the bar tender tip..pretty cheap huh? Well i think i forgot to mention that the whole trip we were on a 3 dollar a meal budget so that was like giving up half a meal..its alot worse when you put it in that perspective. So anyways me and bsmith felt a little out of place at the bar considering it was about 99.9 percent african americans, Vinny and Cameron were lucky they were part of the majority. So we left to take a stroll down Hollywood blvd encountering all the stars on the ground, a whole medium pizza and 2 delicous hot dogs. We took off from there back to the house to pass out at around 3am. Oh ya i forgot to mention that we made a pit stop to release my excess liquid onto this guys storefront window and i was confronted by the dude who must have owned the store banging at the window yelling and screaming while i ran off. I even dropped my cell phone but we came back to find it later chillen in a pile of leaves. As soon as we got back to camerons house everyone passed out pretty fast, especially vinny, who passed out in the most uncomfortable looking position. But i guess when youre drunk it doesnt matter. The last day we woke up surprisingly early for some reason and managed to meet up with a bunch of dudes out in Long Beach, Steve Cortez, Anthony Williams, and Ryan Santos. Some pretty fun sessions went down that day with some nice clips of Anthony. We ended the day at some perfect little line ledges where i managed to fall about 15 times, prolly cuz i suck, but thats ok. Vinny aunt invited us over for some dinner that she cooked. Mexican food, which i might add we have prolly eaten about 20 burritos, 35 tacos, passed by 75 taco trucks, and drank gallons of mexican sodas. Now at the end of the day, the trip is over and all and all it was a pretty good time. Got some good clips, some good falls, some good mexican food, and some bad sleep. Time to go home to the queen size. peace- Ivan |

So we decided to take a trip to southern california for the week to try and get some more clips for hyphy4. What we didn't expect was temperatures that exceed boiling point making it almost impossible to skate anytime before 6pm. Even after that, it is still about 100 degrees which after 5 tricks if ur shirt isn't covered in sweat its because you passed out from heat exhaustion after the 2nd try. So basically things have been a bit slow but definitely not halted. We've gotten a good amount of footage for what we can handle. We covered a day in the life with Connor Obrien which consisted of one of the craziest things i've ever witnessed with my own eyes... and some pretty good footage of a lot of other people. So stay tuned to see what else we can pull out for you in this death heat. - Ivan Narez |
